Artwork Story
This artwork tells a story about the significance of the water that flows through Gunditjmara Country, depicting people gathering by the river for ceremony.
The role of rivers as vital food and water sources for my community has dictated where we gather for thousands of years, ensuring we can come together with nourishment provided by Country. Water sources have a significant presence in Gunditjmara stories, representing the creation of life, vitality, and survival.
