I am beyond thrilled to finally share some very exciting news — I wrote a book!
Introducing Yakeen 'Dreaming', a heartfelt children's book that celebrates the richness, beauty, and strength of Aboriginal storytelling.
This book is so much more than words and pictures on a page. It’s a reflection of my culture’s ancient tradition of passing down knowledge, values, and connection through story. Storytelling has always been at the heart of who we are - it's how we teach, remember, and honour the generations that came before us.
Yakeen, which means “Dreaming” in Peek Whurrong language, invites young readers to explore the world of Dreaming stories and begin to understand how deeply they shape our connection to Country, identity, and community. Through vibrant illustrations and simple language, I hope it creates space for children, educators, and families to engage with culture in a meaningful and accessible way.
Creating this book has been such a rewarding journey. As a proud Gunditjmara woman and Artist, it means the world to share culture with younger generations - not just within our community, but right across the Country.
Yakeen 'Dreaming' is now available nationwide in major retailers including Big W, Kmart, Target, and more. I truly hope you enjoy it as much as I loved creating it.
