About the Artwork
This artwork represents the connection that Westfield has with the traditional Country of the Wurundjeri peoples on which it is located. The water forms as the Birrarung 'Yarra River' and connects the land to the sea, this being a central part of the Dreaming for the Wurundjeri. The centralised meeting place is symbolic of Westfield itself which is submerged by its people that make up the community in which it serves.
