Why we don't say 'Emerging'

In Aboriginal culture, Eldership is an earned position.
Earned through years of experience, commitment and contribution.
Years of leading and leadership.
Years of nurturing, inspiring and encouraging.
The status of Eldership (different from leadership) cannot be self imposed or anointed.
Therefore, acknowledging ‘emerging Elders’ is in direct contradiction to these principles, and culturally inappropriate.
