Thought it was about time I addressed this.
I’ve been asked a lot over the past two weeks about these terms, and truth is, I haven’t put much thought into it until now - but I guess allies and my followers would like to know.
I personally don’t hate that the term Naarm is being used more. It’s not being associated with a negative group of people. If you think someone is woke (politically and socially aware) then I don’t see an issue.. I want to reiterate that this is MY view.. other Aboriginal people could disagree..
The point is, sack the other terms like Naarmcore, Naarmy & Naarmy Army.
If you have no idea what I’m talking about - lucky you. Unfortunately a younger generation is using these terms online & it’s only growing..
Ps. If you’ve used one of those terms before, that’s okay. Everyone is learning & I don’t think anyone will hold it against you.
